DefCon from the Eyes of a Newb


I had the opportunity and pleasure of getting to take a trip to Las Vegas during one of the largest hacking and security conferences in the world for the first time this past week. DefCon has always been one of those “Yeah, it’d be nice, but it’ll never happen” kinds of experiences, or so I used to think. Thanks to the noble sacrifice of one heroic co-worker, who gave his plane seat that others may go forth in his stead, I had that chance.

If you’ve been performing penetration tests for the last several months, then you may have encountered Office 365 in your travels. Office 365 (O365) for the sake of clarity, is the latest and greatest Cloud solution for various popular Microsoft services including Exchange, Sharepoint, Database management, and a cloud-based active directory serviced called Azure Active Directory. It’s a great service for businesses of all sizes, except that it just a bit too user-friendly for its own good.
